Barrie-John Partridge
I am running for the Whau Local Board because I care deeply about the Whau and the people who call it home. I believe strong local leadership matters, and I want to bring my energy, experience, and community focus to the role. I am motivated by service, by a belief in fairness and accessibility, and by a desire to help shape a future where our neighbourhoods thrive and people feel proud to live here. I am also running for the Portage Licensing Trust in Titirangi Green Bay because I believe in the safe, responsible sale of alcohol, and I believe in the Trusts model, but it can be improved, and I want to work to change it for the better.
I will make a good elected representative because I bring nearly two decades of legal experience as a barrister, strong analytical skills, and training as a mediator. I have deep roots in the Whau through volunteering in schools, sports, and community groups. I believe in fairness, accessibility, and collaboration, and I will work hard to ensure all voices are heard, respected, and represented with integrity. I have Bachelor Degrees in Law and Commerce and a Master of Public Policy (First Class Honours) and Master of Laws (Honours).
Top three priorities:
Ensure accessibility so seniors, disabled people and all residents can fully participate in the Whau
Improve transport, create safer streets, and build strong community networks across the Whau.
Protect our libraries and hubs, the beating heart of Whau’s community life, learning, and belonging.
