Daymond Goulder-Horobin

Since moving to Waiuku in 2019, I have observed Council inefficiencies burdening ratepayers.

At 30, with a Master of Business and IT experience, I am stepping forward to serve. I am standing with Rock The Vote NZ for common sense, transparency, and practical solutions.

I will advocate for sensible spending across the local board and Council, lower rate increases, and a budget that stays within its means. Core services must take priority over vanity projects; the bin changes that reduce flexibility and the trials of fortnightly collection highlight why.

I will be a strong voice for Waiuku. With rate rises of up to 23 percent, we need clear explanations and safeguards. Since the supercity merger, rural Franklin has too often been overlooked; we deserve our fair share. I will scrutinise spending line by line, eliminate waste, and prioritise safer roads, cleaner parks, and genuine community projects.
