Pamela Taylor

Hello, my name is Pamela Taylor. Vote for me to be Mayor of Dunedin.

I have a bachelor’s in commerce, in Economics & Management, a bachelor’s in teaching, and I have completed a Dairy New Zealand farming short course.

I’ve been involved in politics in Dunedin by campaigning for Dunedin Mayor & Councilor in 2022, Dunedin MP in 2023, with Dunedin Reduce Rates, Dunedin’s Challenging Councils, Dunedin’s Ratepayers & Householders Association, Dunedin Area Citizens Association & Surrey St.

My Policies are:

reverse the $100 million in recent zero-carbon and cycleways budgets and establish a much smaller ‘pot hole fund.’
Reverse $150 million Smooth Hill Landfill plans and use Timaru or Winton Limestone Quarry sites for landfill.
Stop borrowing $1 million per week to pay interest only on DCC debts.
Cut $461 million per year in operating costs by $52 million.
Restructure Dunedin City Council and remove 250 jobs.
Get rid of the Otago Regional Council and save some families $5000 in ORC Rates per year.
Replace 200 meters of the 1960s sewage pipes on Surrey Street from 14mm/hour rainfall to larger than 18mm/hour rainfall pipes, and the old pipes near Balmacewen School that also leak sewage.
Provide clean drinking water to people by no longer pouring neurotoxins like fluoride and other poisons, into the drinking water.
Remove Diversity, Equity & Inclusion from Dunedin City Council. Oppose Māori Wards, Māori only seats and Apartheid, stand up for equal rights for all New Zealanders.

I am committed to maintaining Dunedin’s name, Dunedin, and not Ōtepoti, and ensuring that Dunedin Council companies communicate in English.

Vote for Pamela Taylor to be Mayor of Dunedin.
