Rachel McInnes

Technically “Dr Rachel”, but now mostly known for fixing up old houses while swearing at power tools.

I live on the coast, spend plenty of time on our streets and beaches, and care deeply about making sure our coastal communities — big and small — get their fair share.

My background is in business and leadership — I’ve worked in strategic government roles and know how messy things can get when no one speaks up. These days you’re just as likely to find me with a paintbrush or power tool in hand, fixing things up and learning what it really takes to get jobs done properly.

What matters to me:
• Fair share of council services (roading, rubbish, transport) for fair rates
• Keeping our libraries and Resource Centre strong
• Flood prevention and coastal resilience that works when we need it most
• Straight answers and real accountability

I’m practical, curious, and not afraid to ask tough questions. If you want someone who will listen, listen, listen — and then act, I’d love your vote.
