Selena Wong

Growing up in West Harbour, attending Marina View School and Hobsonville Point Secondary, I have seen first-hand the incredible diversity of our community and the voices that too often go unheard. I am committed to changing that.

I will create more opportunities for young people to be heard, strengthen intergenerational connections, and back grassroots organisations that bring our neighbourhoods together. I will invest in safer streets, like adding lighting to our bus stops, push for reliable transport, and support resilient community spaces.

This community raised me, and now I want to give back. With a strong background in Global Politics and Human Rights, youth mentoring, and the wellbeing and equity space, I now work as a coordinator for North Shore Neighbourhood Support, collaborating with NZ Police, Fire and Emergency, and four local boards across the North Shore. This gives me unique insight into what works and what doesn’t, so I can bring the best ideas into Upper Harbour. I want to make sure we don’t waste time, money, or energy, but instead build on proven successes.

We deserve local politics that are accessible, community-led, and transparent. Together, we can create safer streets, stronger neighbourhoods, and a future where every voice is heard and every person feels connected.
